How safe is it, living in CDO City?
When I was still in Makati City way back 1996 and later years, I was one of the many Manileños bearing the perception in mind that Mindanao is a war zone island. This is because of the manner of publication done by media in the past where the remote encounters between rebels, the Philippine army, and the Philippine National Police during those days were reported as a general situation in the entire Mindanao Island. The truth is, which I may say, today's reporting manner had already been corrected a few years ago, and media people became more responsible in reporting isolated lawless events. Now, as everyone can read from magazines, newspapers as well as the Internet, many places in Mindanao are inhabited by peace-loving people, and more tourists are coming over in the island for adventures, pleasures as well as to settle for good. I myself, is one of the people that totally abandoned our past places and chose to live distinctly here in Cagayan de Oro City for good.

With these, I can vouch, ever since I arrived and stay here in CDO City, which is barely 20 years now, that the peace and order situation is the next-best thing this wonderful city has to offer to its residents and visitors alike.
